SPRING ’21 Episode 8: Penn State Letterman Brandon Noble (Part 1 Redux)

March 12, 2021

Re-releasing Part One of our interview with Obligatory co-host Brandon Noble (originally published in August 2019) in advance of the all-new second installment coming next week. Brandon’s got a great story about the intersection of life and football, and he tells it well.

In this first interview, Brandon talks about the journey that took him across the country – from Southern California to Virginia Beach – and eventually to Happy Valley, suiting up for some of JoePa’s best teams in the mid-1990’s: The recruiting process, choosing between Michigan and Penn State, and his first three years in the program, which included plenty of adversity and adjustment as well as a chance to play for an undefeated Big Ten and Rose Bowl champion. Our next installment will cover his role as a key starter at defensive tackle in 1995-96, from the legendary “Snowball Game” against Michigan in ’95 to ending his career as Fiesta Bowl MVP the following year, and how his pro football career nearly ended before it began.
